Mission statement, Conduct, Personal side
“We control life, Winston, at all its levels. You are imagining that there is something called human nature which will be outraged by what we do and will turn against us. But we create human nature. Men are infinitely malleable.”…George Orwell, “1984″
The Citizen Wells blog has been in existence for over 3 years. I agree with Glenn Beck on many topics and one that we certainly agree on is that God has a purpose for us that we do not always perceive initially or sometimes ever. That has happened for me but I realized within several days of investigating Barack Obama early in 2008 what my purpose was and is. I do deeply care about this country.
While watching the “news” coverage of the Obama camp unfold in 2008 two strong memories from the past were evoked. I am a student of history and fairly well read so the machinations of the Obama camp and control of the media reminded me too strongly of Nazi Germany and therefore also “1984” by George Orwell. It thus became my mission to cover important stories that were under covered, distorted or removed from internet records, just as they were in Nazi Germany and “1984.”
I have been on internet radio some and have been encouraged to do more of this as well as branch out into other areas. It has been extremely difficult to do what I have been doing, even with the help of so many. To do more would dilute the primary mission. I realized that I must stay on point, on mission and fulfill my small part to keep important news stories alive, despite the best efforts of the Orwellian truth decimaters.
Many attempts have been made to dissuade and distract me from our efforts. These include numerous death threats, personal attacks as well as attempts to pull me into non productive endeavors and discussions. That must not happen. I have tried to the best of my ability to research and write about those stories that I perceived as crucial and being distorted by the dark side of humanity. I, like so many of you, keep going despite adversity and personal issues. This has not been easy fo me as well as many of you. This leads me to my next point. Keeping focused on our mission and acknowledging the personal side of our struggles.
My first professional job was in the early seventies. The managing partner of our accounting firm came across as a gruff, old school, cigar smoking navy veteran. After a few years he did not seem quite so intimidating, yet he still carried that aura. One day I was talking to my boss and he shared some insight about that gruff managing partner. They had been discussing an employee who was having performance issues. The managing partner explained to my boss that everyone has a personal life that is not seen, that everyone has struggles and issues that they are dealing with and to always take that into account when evaluating an employee. I was impressed and gained more respect for the managing partner. That lesson became part of me.
So when you are commenting here, standing in line at a checkout, driving or interacting with those around you, remember that we all have struggles, bad days, adversities that we are dealing with. Before a knee jerk reaction, pause and ponder this message. You will be happier as well as those around you.
