In writing about the proposed tax cuts and ending some tax deductions, the mainstream media will invariably write, for instance, about “how much revenue the government will lose if the Bush tax cuts are extended.” The government will not lose a dime if the Bush tax cuts are extended because it isn’t the government’s money. The money belongs to the people who earned it.”
